Five things to do on a rainy day

MAKE A HOMEMADE PIZZA

Get some fresh dough, chopped tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and toppings of your choice…or let the kids pick. Pineapple, ham, onions, olives, bananas, sausage, there are no holds barred when it comes to pizza toppings!

BUILD A CAMP

The sofa is the integral part of any den or camp. Preferably turning it around with a blanket draped across the top. Pillows are also essential building blocks. And don’t forget the fancy dress.

HOST AN INDOOR SCAVENGER HUNT

Preparation is key for this. Think about items scattered across your house and draw up a wish-list for your little ones to find. Rather than straight forward clues, why not make up rhymes.

MAKE A SUPER HERO CAPE

Get and old white t-shirt and turn it inside out if it’s got a pattern on the front. Cut off the arms and back of the t-shirt and leave just the front leaving attached to the collar. Once your cape is cut out, get decorating with pens, glitter and stickers.

WRITE A STORY

Think about the characters, does your child want to be in it, will it be happy or scary? Where is it set, a castle, in space or a jungle? Get creative and have fun with words. Get your child thinking about descriptions and finish it off with a lovely picture.
